Who we are

Devzilla (“Devzilla,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at devzilla.co and works across four divisions: the Agency (forward-deployed engineering and AI consulting), the Lab (AI and product research), the Foundry (in-house products spun off as companies), and the Signal (our media work). For the personal information described here, Devzilla is the data controller.

This policy explains how we handle information from people who visit the site, contact us, or subscribe to the Signal. When you sign a written agreement for client work, the data-processing terms in that agreement govern the personal data we handle on your behalf during the engagement, and this policy covers only your interactions with the public website.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you use the contact form, email us, or subscribe to the Signal, we receive what you choose to send: your name, email address, company, and the contents of your message or inquiry. If we begin working together, we also receive the details you share to scope and run the project.

Information we collect automatically

When you load a page, our hosting provider and analytics record standard technical data: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the page that referred you, and timestamps. We use this to keep the site running, secure, and legible in aggregate.

Information we do not want

We do not intentionally collect special categories of data such as health, biometric, or government identifier information. Please do not send sensitive details through the contact form.

How we use it

We use the information above to:

• Respond to your inquiries and provide the information you request.
• Deliver, maintain, secure, and improve the website.
• Send the Signal newsletter when you have subscribed to it.
• Scope, deliver, and administer client engagements.
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
• Meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

How we share

We share personal information only in these limited situations:

• Service providers. Vendors that host the site, deliver email (for example, our Mailgun-backed contact endpoint), and provide analytics, each bound by contract to handle data on our instructions.
• Professional advisors. Lawyers, accountants, and auditors when they need the information to advise us.
• Legal and safety. When we are required to by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Devzilla, our clients, or the public.
• Business transfers. As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, with notice where the law requires it.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies and tracking

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies keep the site working and remember your preferences. Analytics cookies help us understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not use advertising cookies.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them, though some parts of the site may work less smoothly as a result. Where required by law, we honor Global Privacy Control and similar browser signals as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of your information.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it, or as the law requires. Contact inquiries are kept for a limited period after we have responded. Signal subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe. Client records are kept for the term of the engagement and any period required by contract, tax, and legal rules. Server logs are rotated on a routine schedule.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls that limit who can reach it. No website or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep the risk low and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

Your rights

• Correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
• Delete your information, subject to legal exceptions.

We operate from the United States, and our service providers may process your information in the United States and other countries. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we use appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, when the law requires them.

Children's privacy

The site is meant for a professional audience and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

The site and the Signal may link to services and content we do not control, such as external articles, podcast platforms, and the sites of Foundry companies. Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to read the policies of any third-party site you visit.

Policy changes

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and for material changes we will provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
